Which is not often possible with coffee. Most coffee roasting colleagues use plastic coffee bags with a degassing valve. This valve is used because coffee is degassing after roasting. A regular plastic bag can not handle the change in pressure and just pops open without a valve.
When your jar is empty you can reuse it for other "household chores". Or you can bring it back to the roastery for a refill.
